Enzo Ferrari, Italian motor racing driver, entrepreneur and founder of the Scuderia Ferrari and the Ferrari company, is once again the subject of a Montblanc Great Characters collection.
Red is the colour usually associated with Ferrari, but it's Giallo Modena - a bright yellow inspired by the crest of Enzo Ferrari's hometown of Modena - that features in this collection.
The dates of birth and first racing victory are engraved on the cone, and his signature and ‘Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari’ are engraved on the cap top. The Montblanc emblem in precious blue resin features on the cap end and is surrounded by intricate metalwork reminiscent of a vintage car grill.
The cap features the Cavallino Rampante (prancing horse) symbol as well as the words of the countess who initially suggested he use it: ‘Le porterà fortuna’ (‘It will bring you luck’). 12 engraved lines represent the 12 cylinders of the first car made by Ferrari. The ruthenium-coated clip is engraved with Ferraris motto: ‘You cannot describe passion, you can only live it’.
The solid gold, ruthenium-coated nib is embossed with the word ‘Pilota’ (one of Enzo Ferrari's nicknames) and an engraving of the steering wheel of the 250 GTO, one of the world’s most renowned racing cars.
Dimensions: 147.5mm long, 17.5mm diameter, weighs 53g. Refill using bottled fountain pen ink.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
FREE Royal Mail Standard delivery for orders over £100, and just £3.50 for smaller orders. Royal Mail Priority is available as an option, for £3.50 on orders over £100, £5.50 on smaller orders. Express available for £9, or FREE with any order over £400. No delivery surcharges for Northern Ireland, Highlands & Islands or anywhere else!
